Just Bloom
As I keep reflecting on my theme for the year—Take Root. Take Care. Bloom.—I’ve been thinking a lot about what bloom really means.
In the past, I might have chosen words like shine or share—something about putting my work out there, making things happen. But this year, I realized what’s been missing isn’t action—it’s ease.
The Power of Ease
Think about the people you admire—great actors, creatives, leaders. Yes, they work hard. But when they step into their moment, there’s a sense of effortlessness. A quiet confidence. They don’t force their work into the world. They trust it, they trust themselves, and they let it be seen.
And that made me think of flowers.
Flowers Don’t Force It—And Neither Should We
Flowers don’t beg us to notice them. They don’t push themselves into the spotlight. They just bloom.
So lately, I’ve been reminding myself: Just bloom.
In an audition room, I can’t control the outcome. I can only bring my preparation, show up as myself, and react in the moment. And you know what? The auditions I book are usually the ones where I’m not overthinking it—I’m just being.
Same goes for my corporate career. Hospitality was my side gig. I wasn’t trying to climb a ladder—I just showed up, did good work, and shared what I knew. And somehow, I bloomed there too, in ways I never expected.
How Can You Bloom in Your Work?
What would happen if you stopped pushing so hard and just allowed your work to be seen? Not by working less, but by trusting yourself more. By letting your preparation and passion shine—without forcing it.
At Everyday People Consulting, that’s what I help people do. Whether it’s through coaching, training, or keynotes, my goal is to help you step into your work with clarity, confidence, and ease. Because when you create the right conditions for growth, blooming happens naturally.
If that sounds like something you need, let’s talk.
